Fatal ATV Collision on Bee Tree in Gunlock, KY

Date of News Release: 06/28/2008

(Pikeville, KY)- John Salyer was riding an ATV with several other subjects on Bee Tree near RT 7. John Salyer started down the hill and observers said he was going faster than usual. Due to storms in the area there was a tree down across the road. Mr. Salyer tried to stop the ATV but struck the tree causing him to be ejected from the ATV striking his head on the tree. John Salyer was pronounced dead on the scene by Magoffin County Deputy Coroner Mark Jenkins. Still under investigation by Trooper Collins.
