Fatal Collision on KY 550 and 850 in Floyd County

(Pikeville, KY)- On May 27, 2008 at 2:16 am EST Kentucky State Police Post 9-Pikeville received a call regarding a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of KY 550 and 850 in the Hueysville community of Floyd County.

John P Sexton, 30 years of age of Langley, was traveling south bound on KY 850 in a 1998 Ford truck. Sexton failed to stop at the intersection of KY 850 and 550. Mr. Sexton then drove the truck over an embankment. The passenger Jamie L Kilburn was riding in the back of the pickup at the time of the collision. Mr. Kilburn, 30 years of age of Martin, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Floyd County Coroner Roger Nelson. Mr. Sexton was transported to Saint Joseph Hospital by Trans Star Ambulance. Alchol involvement is suspected. The collision is still under investigation by Trooper Justin Cornett.
