One Killed on Elkhorn Creek Road in Pike County

(Pikeville, KY)- On 4/26/2008 Post 9 received a call of a single vehicle accident on Elkhorn Creek Road KY Route 197 in the Elkhorn City community of Pike County. Mr. Derek Pergrem was traveling South on KY Route 197 when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The vehicle came to final rest on its top in the creek. Mr. Pergrem was not wearing a seat belt. Pike County Deputy Corner Denver Bailey pronounced Mr. Pergrem dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigaton by Trooper Melissa Hampton.
