Armed Robbery Investigation

Date of News Release: 03/03/2008

(Pikeville, KY) - Victim answered back door to residence, 2 male subjects forced there way inside. The male subjects were armed, one with mace and a small handgun. The other male had an axe. The male subject sprayed victim with mace upon entering the residence and forced her and her child to lay down on floor. Male subject proceeded to bathroom and seen second victim the subject sprayed the second victim with mace and pushed her down. The male subject made the victim give him her purse containing one thousand dollars and keys to her car. The subjects left on foot in unknown direction. Units were not able to locate subjects in the area. Assisting u/498 Austin Hicks at the scene were Sgt Peppi U/226, Trooper William Petry U/1137 and Trans Star Ambulance. All subjects refused transport by ambulance. The case is under investigation by Trooper Austin Hicks.
