Fatal House Fire in Pike County

Date of News Release: 02/28/2008

(Pikeville, KY) - At 0849 hours, a 911 call was received at KSP Post 9 in Pikeville of a structure fire on Brown Street in the Millard community of Pike county. Millard/East Shelbiana Fire Department units advised they had located a body inside the structure at 1140 hours. The fire is being investigated by the Kentucky State Police along with the Kentucky Fire Marshall's office. Detective Kevin Newsome is handling the investigation for KSP. The body has not yet been identified and will be sent to Frankfort for an autopsy. This is a preliminary press release. More information will be released as it is learned.
