KSP Post 7 2008 Highway Safety Mobilization Report

Date of News Release: 09/02/2008

(Richmond, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 7 Richmond partnered with other state and local law enforcement agencies in a statewide highway safety mobilization which began August 15th and ended September 1st. This statewide initiative was a concerted effort to reduce injury and fatality rates across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

This mobilization was in conjunction with the national "Click it or Ticket" Campaign. Law enforcement agencies, using crash data, identified areas that have low safety belt usage rates and a high number of vehicle collisions. Using this data, we were able to focus our enforcement efforts in these areas.

The Kentucky State Police will continue its highway safety efforts through enforcement and public awareness throughout the year. KSP Post 7 Richmond enforcement activities for this two week period is listed below. The Kentucky State Police Post 7 Richmond serves the following counties:
Boyle, Clark, Estill, Garrard, Jackson, Jessamine, Lee, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer and Owsley Counties

The public is encouraged to report any unsafe operation of a motor vehicle by contacting the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555 (in the state of Kentucky only, does not work out of state) or (859) 623-2404.
