News Release

Update to the Fatal Collision on KY 9 in Bracken County

Date of News Release: 10/17/2008

(Dry Ridge, KY) - Officers have made notification to the family of the deceased. The victim was Paul S. Hemann, 40 years old of Lesage, WV. The crash is still under investigation.

Date of News Release: 10/16/2008

(Dry Ridge, KY) - On October 16,2008 at approximately 1349 KSP Post 6 responded to a fatal accident on KY 9, the AA Highway, in Bracken County. It has been determined that the victim was traveling northbound towards Pendleton County when he lost control of his vehicle causing it to cross into the path of a tractor trailer which was traveling southbound towards Augusta. Debris from the impact of the victim's vehicle and the tractor-trailer struck another vehicle that was also traveling southbound. The Bracken County Coroner, John Parker, pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to University Hospital of Cincinnati. The two occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured. Names have not been released pending the notification of family.

The Kentucky State Police, Bracken County Sheriff's Office, and Bracken County fire and ambulance services were on the scene. The accident remains under investigation by Detective Scott Lengle.
