Airplane Collision on Knoxville Gardnersville Road in Pendleton County

(Dry Ridge, KY) - On Sunday September 21, 2008 at approximately 1911 hrs Kentucky State Police Post in Dry Ridge, KY received a call of a plane crash on Knoxville Gardnersville Road in Pendleton County. Troopers responded to the scene and located two men who had parachuted from the aircraft prior to the crash. According to the pilot, the engine had stalled and he was unable to restart the plane. The pilot was identified as Dannie Scott Sharp 33 years of age, of Butler, KY. The passenger was identified as Dwayne Sharp 33 years of age of Germantown, KY. Both men were airlifted from the scene and taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. FAA was notified and the crash remains under investigation.

The pilot was operating a 1973 Sorrel Skybolt airplane and was flying out of the Gene Snyder Airport near Falmouth, KY.
