Bourbon County Jailer & Chief Deputy Indicted by Special Bourbon County Grand Jury

(Dry Ridge, KY) - Tony Horn, the elected jailer of Bourbon County, was indicted by a special grand jury called to hear evidence relating to the death of inmate Daniel Trimble. Kentucky State Police detectives from Dry Ridge Post have been conducting an investigation into the death of Trimble since February. A grand jury heard the evidence gathered by State Police detectives, and returned a four count indictment against Mr. Horn. The indictments were for 2 counts of Tampering with Public Records, each count a Class D felony punishable by 1 to 5 years in prison. Mr. Horn was also indicted for 2 counts of Official Misconduct First Degree, a class A misdemeanor, each count punishable by up to 12 months in jail.
The grand jury also returned a three count indictment against the Chief Deputy Jailer, Sandy Dotson. Ms. Dotson's indictment alleges 2 counts of Tampering with Physical Evidence, each count a class D felony punishable by 1 to 5 years in prison and 1 count of Official Misconduct First Degree, a class A misdemeanor punishable by up to 12 months in jail. The indictments have been served, and both defendants are scheduled to make an appearance at 1 pm, October 14th, 2008 in Bourbon Circuit Court.
