Fatal Collision on I-75 in Grant County
Date of News Release: 07/31/2008
(Dry Ridge, KY) - On July 31, 2008 at approximately 0828 hours, Kentucky State Police in Dry Ridge responded to a single vehicle accident northbound on Interstate 75, at approximately the 155 mile marker. Charles G. Lake, 73 years-old, of 1585 Keefer-Lawrenceville Road in Corinth was pulling a trailer containing scrap metal with a 2004 Ford Ranger. Mr. Lake lost control of the vehicle where it ran off the right shoulder of the road. The vehicle traveled up the embankment and subsequently rolled several times before coming to final rest. Mr. Lake was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grant County Coroner, Marylee Willoby. The passenger, William Lake, 23 years old, was transported to St. Elizabeth where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Eric Bowman.
