Murder Investigation & Arrest in Smiths Grove, KY

(Smiths Grove, KY) - On 10/31/2008 at 08:14 hrs, Kentucky State Police received a call requesting assistance by The Barren County Sheriffs Department to 13262 Old Bowling Green Rd (KY1297) in Barren County. Upon arrival, Troopers & Detectives found John Upton deceased in the residence. Mr. Upton had received numerous gunshot wounds to his body. During the course of the investigation, Detectives interviewed a number of people they thought may have information pertaining to the case and subsequently arrested a 17 year old juvenile male regarding the murder of John Upton. The juvenile has been lodged in the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center. Investigation is ongoing. Further details are not being released at this time.
