Trooper Involved Shooting in Morgantown, KY
Date of News Release: 09/21/2008
(Morgantown, KY) --The Kentucky State Police and Butler County Sheriff's Department received a call concerning an alleged altercation between neighbors in the Caneyville community of Butler County. Units arrived at 6:44 p.m., September 20, 2008. Upon arrival the Trooper and Deputy were advised by a witness that Emmit Henderson, Jr. (Male) 2755 Caneyville Road (KY 79) Morgantown, KY, had received a gunshot wound to his body, during the neighbors altercation. Henderson was transported to the Medical Center at Bowling Green, KY by the Butler County E.M.S, where he was treated and released.
When Trooper Todd Combs, (Male 34 y.o.a.). U/511 and Deputy Mark Taulbee, (Male 39 y.o.a.) ordered the alleged perpetrator Kenneth Todd (Male 53 y.o.a.) from his residence. Kenneth Todd refused. Witnesses stated that Kenneth Todd then fired at the responding Officers. Trooper Combs returned fire and Kenneth Todd was injured in the exchange.
Several units approached Kenneth Todd's residence at 2741 Caneyville Road and found Kenneth Todd wounded on his floor.
Butler County E.M.S. transported Kenneth Todd to the Morgantown City Park and Life Flight transported him to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
The last information from Vanderbilt University Hospital concerning Kenneth Todd's condition, placed him in surgery.
None of the Officers were injured in the encounter. Trooper Todd Combs has been placed on routine administrative leave.
Charges against Kenneth Todd are pending.
The investigation continues.
