Injury Collision on KY 339 South in Graves County
Date of News Release: 10/27/2008
(Mayfield, KY) - Wilma E. Hobbs and Susie Anna Yoder were both southbound on KY 339 South, about 1/2 mile south of Fancy Farm. Ms. Yoder was operating a horse-drawn vehicle, was ahead of Ms. Hobbs. As Ms. Hobbs approached a slight grade in the highway, the operator was unable to see Ms. Yoder on the other side of the grade. When Ms. Hobbs crested the grade, the operator saw Ms. Yoder, and made an attempt to avoid the collision by braking and swerving; however, the operator was unable to avoid the rear-end collision. The passengers (Ruth Ann Yoder & Barbara Sue Yoder) of Ms. Yoder were injured in the collision. Mayfield/Graves County EMS transported the passengers to Jackson Purchase Medical Center, where they were treated for their injuries. The investigation continues by Tpr. Kyle Nall with the Kentucky State Police.
