Injury Collision on KY 1241 in Graves County

Date of News Release: 10/10/2008

(Mayfield, KY) - Mr. Blake Marshall was traveling South on KY 1241 on an ATV in the middle of the Southbound Lane with no headlights or tail lights. Mr. James Brown was a passenger on the back of the ATV. Neither Mr. Marshall or Mr. Brown were wearing a helmet. Mr. Berryman was traveling South on KY1241 when he came up on Mr. Marshall. Mr. Adron Berryman did not see Mr. Marshall until he did not have time to stop. Mr. Berryman attempted to go around Mr. Marshall in the Northbound lane, but had to swerve back into the Southbound lane due to on coming traffic. Mr. Berryman's van then collided with Mr. Marshall's ATV. Mr. Berryman and Mr. Brown were transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center by Mayfield-Graves EMS. Mr. Brown was then flown to Vanderbilt Hospital, Nashville, TN. KSP was assisted by the Graves County Sheriff's Department, Mayfield-Graves EMS, and the West Viola Fire Department. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Eric Fields.
