Fatal Motorcycle Collision on KY 849 in Graves County

Date of News Release: 09/24/2008

(Mayfield, KY) - Garrett Warfield and Sylvia Styers were traveling eastbound on KY 849 on a 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle. A horse entered the traveled portion of the roadway in front of Mr. Warfield's vehicle. Mr. Warfield struck the horse in the side. Mr. Warfield was pronounced dead at the scene by Carlisle County Coroner Steve Freeman. The child passenger of the motorcycle was transported to St. Fransis Medical Center in Mo. for injuries to her lower extremities. The horse also died as a result of the accident. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Wommer.
