Fleeing and Evading Arrest in Marshall County

Date of News Release: 09/15/2008

(Hickory, KY) - Murray City Police Department notified Kentucky State Police that they were in pursuit of Mr. Jerad Morris on US Highway 641, North of Murray. While on routine patrol in Calloway County, Trooper Trey Green responded to assist. The pursuit continued northbound on US Highway 641 into Marshall County. The suspect, ignored Tpr Green's emergency equipment, continued on the US Highway 641 spur and ramped onto northbound Jackson Purchase Parkway. Kentucky State Police, with the assistance of the Calvert City Police Department, deployed a tire deflation device subsequently rendering the suspect's vehicle inoperable. Mr. Morris was charged with fleeing and evading 1st, disregarding a traffic control device, 2 counts of disregarding a stop sign and reckless driving. Additional charges are pending by the Murray City Police Department. Marshall County and Calloway County Sheriffs Department, Calvert city Police Department and the Murray City Police Department assisted Kentucky State Police at the scene.
