Injury ATV Collision on KY 1346 in Calloway County

Date of News Release: 06/26/2008

(Mayfield, KY) - Kentucky State Police were notified of an ATV accident on KY 1346 and KY 80. Investigation at the scene indicated that the steering possibly failed and Mr. Jefferey L. Parrish jumped off the ATV prior to hitting a guardrail on KY 1346. The ATV came off the guardrail and continued over Mr Parrish while he was lying in the roadway. The ATV continued westbound on KY 1346 and ran off the roadway turning over in a ditch on the north side of the road. Mr Parrish was not wearing a helmet. He was air lifted to Vanderbilt Hospital from Murray. Kentucky State Police were assited by Calloway County Sheriffs Department and Murray/Calloway County EMS at the scene. The investigation continues by Tpr. Russell Boyd.
