US Highway 60 Enforcement

Date of News Release: 03/25/2008

(Hickory, KY) - Kentucky State Police in cooperation with other state and local law enforcement will be focusing their attention on the US Highway 60 corridor which runs through Livingston, McCracken, and Ballard counties in western Kentucky. From now until March 31st, Troopers and other law enforcement officers will be focusing their efforts on impaired drivers traveling along US Highway 60. As always attention will also be given to speeding violators as well as seatbelt and child restraint violators.

"Highway 60 is a highly traveled roadway in our post district", says Trooper Dean Patterson, Public Affairs Officer for Post 1 in Mayfield. "This highway also has a noticeable amount of injury traffic collisions as well as traffic related fatalities. By partnering with other entities of law enforcement, we hope to increase seatbelt usage, decrease driver speeds, and arrest impaired drivers."

As always, citizens can contribute to highway safety by reporting erratic drivers to the Kentucky State Police toll-free at 1-800-222-5555 (in the state of Kentucky only, does not work out of state). Callers can remain anonymous and should give a description of the vehicle, location, direction of travel, and license number if possible.
