Injury DUI Collision on KY 1820 in Graves County

(Graves County) - Donald Carter and 2 passengers (Austin Geveden & James Holder) were traveling north on KY 1820 in Graves County. Mr. Carter failed to negotiate a curve just south of Melber causing his vehicle to leave the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck an embankment and overturned into ditch filled with approximately 2 feet of water.

While speaking with the driver, Trooper Gregory suspected Mr. Carter of being under the influence of alcohol and noticed beer cans scattered around the vehicle.

Mr. Carter and his passengers (Austin Geveden & James Holder) were each treated and released from Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

After being released, Donald Carter was arrested and lodged at the Graves County Jail. Mr. Carter was charged with DUI 1st, No Insurance, and 2 counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.

The collision is being investigated by Trooper Joe Gregory with the Kentucky State Police. KSP was assisted at the scene by the Mayfield/Graves Co. EMS.
