Fatal Motorcycle Collision on KY 56 in McLean County

Date of News Release: 08/18/2008

(Henderson, KY) - Kentucky State Police Post 16 is working a two vehicle collision that occurred on KY 56 in the limits of Beech Grove in McLean County. Frances C. Powell was operating a blue 2007 Jeep Patriot westbound on KY 56 when she made an opposing left turn into the path of a 2006 silver Honda Shadow motorcycle that was eastbound. Earl T. Evans was the operator of the motorcycle and was thrown from the vehicle at impact. Mr. Evans was transported to Owensboro Medical Health System for treatment and was later pronounced dead by the Daviess County coroner. Frances C. Powell was transported to Methodist Hospital in Henderson for treatment of injuries. There were no other passengers involved in the collision. No Alcohol or drug involvement is suspected at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
