Woman Jumps Off Bridge from US 41

Date of News Release: 08/17/2008

(Henderson, KY) - At approximately 2:15 P.M. Kentucky State Police received a call from a motorist on the bridge who advised that several vehicles were stopped on the northbound US 41 bridge and people were out looking over the side of the bridge. Upon units arrival it was discovered that a female had jumped off the bridge landing in a field on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River. Due to her injuries she was life flighted to St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, IN. The female's condition is critical at this time due to multiple fractures and other injuries. Due to the nature of the incident, Kentucky State Police will not release the identity of the subject involved. Detective Angela Jones U/831 is the investigating officer and the investigation is ongoing.
