News Release

Double Fatal Collision on US 60 in Henderson County

Date of News Release: 08/14/2008

(Henderson, KY) - Kentucky State Police Post 16 Henderson is investigating a two vehicle collision that resulted in two fatalities. Michael A. Shelton was eastbound on US 60 when his vehicle entered head on into the path of a westbound vehicle operated by Justin S. Rose. The vehicles collided head on in the westbound lane of travel. Michael A. Shelton was alone in his vehicle and was transported to Methodist Hospital in Henderson where he was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit for treatment. Justin S. Rose was also transported to Methodist Hospital in Henderson where he was admitted for treatment of injuries resulting from the collision. Two passengers in Justin Rose's vehicle, Chavar N. Rose and Dwight C. Parker, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Henderson County Coroner's Office. Neither of the passengers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision. Autopsies on both passengers will be conducted Thursday at the Kentucky State Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville. Alcohol is not suspected as a contributor at this time. Toxicology results are pending at this time.
