Fatal Collision on US 60 in Union County

Date of News Release: 08/12/2008

(Henderson, KY) - A two vehicle collision occurred on US 60, west of Morganfield resulting in a fatality. Hope Lynn Parker was operating a brown 1996 Ford Windstar westbound on US 60. Colten Demoss was operating a blue 1991 Ford Thunderbird eastbound on US 60. Both vehicles collided head on near the center line of the roadway. Hope Lynn Parker was airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, IN. Landin Parker was transported to St. Mary's Hospital via ambulance. Nancy Gail Parker and Paris Parker were transported to the Union County Hospital for treatment.

Colten Demoss was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Michael E. Yates was pronounced dead by the Union County Coroner. An autopsy has been scheduled next date (8/13/08) at the state medical examiners office in Madisonville. The causation of the collision is still under investigation by Kentucky State Police Accident Reconstructionist Sgt. Jason Kirk. An updated news release will be provided at a later date as additional information is learned through the investigation.
