Fatal DUI Collision on KY 56 in McLean County

Date of News Release: 03/22/2008

(Henderson, KY) - Robert A. Bickett was traveling westbound on KY 56 on his 2003 Harley Davidson, approximately 2 miles east of Beech Grove, KY. David Kaelin was traveling eastbound on KY 593 in his 2006 GMC pickup. Mr. Kaelin attempted to turn left off of KY 593 onto KY 56 and pulled into the travel path of Mr. Bickett. Mr. Bickett struck the front end of Mr. Kaelins' vehicle and was thrown approximately 35 feet from impact. Mr. Bickett was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Kaelin was arrested and charged w/DUI 2nd & Murder. Mr. Kaelin was lodged in the Daviess County Jail.
