March Monthly Activity From Post 15
Date of News Release: 04/01/08
(Columbia, KY) - During the month of March 2008, there were 45 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.
There were three fatalities:
BRIDGETT KARNES, Columbia, Kentucky, was killed in Adair County on 03/04/08,
LOVEL G. WILSON, Gamaliel, Kentucky was killed in Monroe County on 03/17/08, and
CATHERINE WILSON, Gamaliel, Kentucky was killed in Monroe County on 03/17/08.
This brings our yearly fatality count to 11 compared with three through this same period in 2007.
State wide fatality count stands at 175 compared with 175 through this same period in 2007.
During the month of March 2008, there were 1,944 citations written, 359 courtesy notices written, 2,725 vehicles inspected, 1,026 complaints answered, 122 motorists assisted, 69 criminal cases opened and 299 criminal arrests made.
