February Monthly Activity From Post 15
Date of News Release: 03/03/08
(Columbia, KY) - During the month of February 2008, there were 50 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.
There were five fatalities:
CHARLES F. MOREHEAD, Hodgenville, Kentucky, was killed in Green County on 02/05/08,
DELMER R. CLARK, JR., Alpha, Kentucky was killed in Clinton County on 02/08/08,
BRADLEY L. ASBERRY, Russell Springs, Kentucky was killed in Russell County on 02/10/08,
JAMES A. LINTON, Springfield, Kentucky was killed in Taylor County on 02/22/08, and
RITA J. LAWHORN, Bardstown, Kentucky was killed in Washington County on 02/22/08.
This brings our yearly fatality count to eight compared with one through this same period in 2007.
State wide fatality count stands at 104 compared with 105 through this same period in 2007.
During the month of February 2008, there were 1,218 citations written, 245 courtesy notices written, 1,527 vehicles inspected, 905 complaints answered, 102 motorists assisted, 69 criminal cases opened and 268 criminal arrests made.
