July 4th 2008 Holiday Data, Post 12-Frankfort

(Post 12-Frankfort) reports no fatality in our seven counties within the Post 12 area during the July 4^th 2008 holiday.

Preliminary statistics* statewide indicate that six people died as a result of six separate crashes on Kentucky's roadways during the 2008 July 4^th holiday period.

Troopers working counties in the Post 12 area issued the following citations and conducted 15 traffic safety check points.

Kentucky State Police Post 12-Frankfort provides police coverage for Anderson, Fayette, Franklin, Scott, Shelby, Spencer and Woodford County.

The Kentucky State Police encourage the public to report impaired drivers by calling 1-502-227-2221 or 1-800-222-5555.

*These statistics are still preliminary as KSP waits for all local law enforcement agencies to report any crashes and fatalities that may have occurred in their areas.
