Shelbyville Murder Investigation
Date of News Release: 04/11/2008
(Frankfort, KY) - On 4-10-2008, Kentucky State Police began an investigation into determining the location of a delivered newborn, after the mother had received medical treatment from the University of Kentucky. At approx. 10:30 P.M., the newborn was located in a trash recepticle near I-64 in Shelbyville, KY, where the newborn was pronounced deceased by the Shelby County Coroner's Office.
On 4-11-2008 an autopsy was performed which lead to the issuance of a warrant of arrest. Charging Tonya Brown of Lexington with Murder. The investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police.
