Fatal Traffic Crash in Laurel County

Date of News Release: 08/25/2008

(London, KY) - On Sunday August 24, 2008 at 9:45 PM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, in London received a report of a fatal traffic crash at approximately the 30 mile marker northbound on I-75 in Laurel County, KY.

Unit one a silver, 2000, Mazda, Protégé, passenger car was northbound on I-75 when it struck unit two, a tractor trailer in the rear.

Unit two, a tractor trailer, was stopped in the northbound traffic due to an injury traffic crash that occurred at approximately 9:10 PM in the same area.

Operator unit one was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner.

The names are withheld at this time pending notification of family.
