Fatal Accident on Elwood Lane in Virgie, KY

Date of News Release: 08/28/2007

(Pikeville, Ky.) - At approximately 1441 hours, Post 9 dispatchers received a 911 call of a single vehicle accident on Elwood Lane in Virgie, KY. According to the caller, Nathaniel Jack Little was attempting to back up a 1984 Datsun truck when one wheel went off the embankment causing the truck to roll down a hill. Mr. Little attempted to exit the vehicle as it was rolling and became pinned beneath it. He was transported to Pikeville Medical Center where he was pronunced dead by Dr. Miza. The incident is still under investigation by Trooper Merlo.
