News Release

Madison County Traffic Safety Checkpoint

Date of News Release: 07/31/2007

(RICHMOND, KY) - The Kentucky State Police will be conducting one Traffic Safety Checkpoint during the month of August in Madison County. On Friday, August 3rd, the location will be Tates Creek Road and South Keeneland Drive. KSP troopers along with the Richmond Police Department and the Madison County Sheriff's Office, will be checking for impaired drivers, insurance and registration violations, and children who are not properly restrained in an approved child safety seat. Officers will also be enforcing Kentucky's mandatory seat belt law. The Kentucky State Police also asks motorists to obey all posted speed limits, increase following distances, and make sure all occupants are properly restrained with seat belts and/or child safety seats.
