Fatal Crash on US 421 in Jackson County

(RICHMOND, KY) - Rebecca Hays was traveling North on US 421. Rebecca Hays exited a curve and ran out of the roadway into a ditch. Rebecca Hays attempted to regain control of the vehicle but was unable to do so. Rebecca Hays' vehicle then struck a culvert. Ms. Hays' vehicle was hauling a five-hundred gallon tank filled with paint. Upon contact with the culvert, the tank collapsed, crushing the passenger compartment from the rear. Hays' vehicle came to rest against the culvert. Rebecca Hays was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner. Trooper Morris was assisted by the Jackson County EMS, McKee Volunteer Fire Department, Gray Hawk Rescue, McKee Police Department, and the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
