Injury Crash in Grant County

(Dry Ridge, KY) - The Kentucky State Police are investigating an injury crash that occurred last evening in Grant County. Larry E. "Buddy" Carey, 38, of Dry Ridge, was eastbound in a 1996 Acura on Warsaw Road 5 miles west of Dry Ridge. Carey crossed the centerline into the westbound lane and struck a 1986 Nissan pick-up head-on. The pick-up was operated by Edwin C. Gregory, 28, of Williamstown, KY. The pick-up was also occupied also by Maria Gregory, 27, Lisa Ann Gregory, 10, and Johnathan Gregory, 3 years of age.

Initial investigation indicates that all parties were properly restrained in seat belts or child safety seats as applicable.

Mr. and Mrs. Gregory both sustained multiple injuries and were taken to University of Cincinnati Hospital. Johnathan and Lisa Ann Gregory were taken to UC Children's Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Carey was taken to University of Cincinnati Hospital and treated for a fracture and miscellaneous injuries.

The cause of the crash is indeterminate and still under investigation by Lieutenant David Hay.
