Hayride Accident in Henry County
Date of News Release: 05/20/2007
(Campbellsburg, KY)- An injury accident occurred on May 19, 2007, at approx. 8:00 pm. The call came from 636 Puckett Lane in Henry County, approx. 3 miles from New Castle. Danielle Walker, age 27, from Eminence, KY, was traveling behind a farm tractor that had a wagon attached for the purpose of a hayride. Ms. Walker was driving a 1994 Chevrolet 4-door passenger car. There were nine individuals, of various ages, riding on the wagon in a field in rural Henry County. The tractor drove into a sink hole in the hay field and the passengers fell off the wagon. Ms. Walker was following behind and was unable to stop before accidentally driving over seven individuals. EMS transported those seven people to area hospitals.
None of the injuries were considered to be life threatening. Trooper Chris Clark is investigating the accident. Tpr. Ryan Gosser assisted Tpr. Clark, at the scene. They were assisted by New Castle Police Chief John Porter, Henry County EMS, Pleasureville EMS, New Castle Fire Department, Kentucky River Fire Department, Eminence Police Department, Shelby County EMS and Oldham County EMS.
The names of the victims are currently not being released. Alcohol and/or speed, are not considered to be factors in this accident, and there aren't any charges pending. The investigation is ongoing and there is nothing further to release, at this time.
