Armed Robbery Investigation in Carroll County

Date of News Release: 01/23/2007

(Campbellsburg, KY)- On January 29th, 2007, at approx. 11:08 pm, KSP Post-5 Tpr. Dave Roberts was advised of a "Papa Johns" pizza delivery person being robbed at gunpoint in Carrollton, Ky. Tpr. Roberts investigated the complaint and has charged three suspects, identified as:

1. Frankie Scruggs, age 21, a black male from Sparta, Ky.
2. Heather Rust, age 18, a white female from Warsaw, Ky.
3. Frank Lester, age 20, a white male from Florence, Indiana

And lodged them in the Carroll County Regional Detention Center. The charges were;

1. Robbery in the 1st degree
2. Receiving Stolen Property over $300
3. Receiving Stolen Property under $300
4. Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon-(Scruggs and Rust)
5. Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon-(Lester)

The receiving stolen property charges are due to them being in possession of some stolen property from an earlier burglary in Henry County, Ky. Some stolen property and weapons have been recovered. Tpr. Roberts was assisted at the scene by the Carrollton PD and Carroll County Sheriffs Dept. This case is still being investigated and more charges may be forthcoming.
