Criminal Arrest of a Couple in Grayson County

(Elizabethtown, KY) - On October 15, 2007, The Kentucky State Police in Elizabethtown received information from the local FBI office that Jeffrey Gillenwater had reported his 16 year old daughter as being kidnapped. Further investigation revealed that the juvenile had been allowed to stay with family friends Raymon and Cathryn Bertram. Gillenwater was to have picked up his daughter on Saturday from the Bertrams however, Mr. Bertram advised Gillenwater that he was not returning his daughter due to certain allegations she had disclosed to them. Mr. Bertram also allegedly made threats to Gillenwater that if the police were called he would never see his daughter again.

The juvenile was located unharmed. The Bertram's were arrested and charged with kidnapping and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center. The allegations made by the juvenile are currently under investigation.
