News Release

Update to Fatal Bus Crash on Southbound I-65

Date of News Release: 06/26/2007

(Bowling Green) - UPDATE: At 1119 hours, June 26, 2007, the driver in this collision, Abraham Parker, was pronounced deceased by the medical staff at Vanderbilt University Hopsital as the result of injuries received from this collision.


(Bowling Green) - Abraham Parker, the operator of a C & R Tour bus, was traveling south on Interstate 65 in the area of the 42 mile marker. Preliminary investigation indicates the operator of the vehicle fell asleep while driving. The vehicle left the roadway striking a concrete bridge support & an earthen embankment. The victim, Carrie Walton, was pronounced dead at the scene by Warren County Coroner, Kevin Kirby. The driver was flown to Vanderbilt Hospital where he was admitted for treatment & is listed in critical condition. Forty-four (44) passengers were transported to the Medical Center at Bowling. Two (2) of these patients were later flown to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee where they were admitted & are also listed in critical condition. Fourteen (14) passengers were transported to T.J. Sampson Hospital in Glasgow. All fourteen (14)were treated & released. Six passengers were transported to Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green. Investigation is ongoing & will continue.
