Troopers Earn Commissioner's Commendations

(Bowling Green) - The Kentucky State Police is proud to announce that two Troopers from the Bowling Green Post was awarded the Commissioner's Commendation.
Trooper Jonathan Biven, Unit 280 and Trooper Tim Adams, Unit 314 were both recognized for their acts of assistance at a collision scene on February 5, 2007. Biven and Adams responded to a call for assistance on I-65 at the 40 mile marker, where a driver was trapped in an overturned vehicle.
Upon arrival Biven and Adams realized that the driver was in extreme pain and danger of going into shock due to blood loss. Biven and Adams pulled the driver from the wreckage and administered first aid. When Emergency Medical Technicians arrived the driver was life-flighted to the University of Louisville Hospital where he was listed in serious condition for several days.
Commissioner Jack Adams recognized Trooper Biven and Adams actions and both were awarded the Commissioner's Commendation, keeping with the highest traditions and standards of the Kentucky State Police.
Captain Bill Payton the Post Commander at Bowling Green stated that Trooper Biven and Adams actions kept a critical situation from turning into a possible fatal incident. Captain Payton is proud of the quick actions of his Troopers and their dedication to duty.
