DUI Injury Crash on I-65 in Hart County

Date of News Release: 04/08/2007

(Bowling Green) - Richard Clark was traveling in the left hand lane on I-65 northbound when he abruptly merged in the right hand lane. According to eyewitnesses Mr. Clark slammed on his brakes causing Willie Anderson Jr to slam into the back of Mr. Clark's vehicle.

After collision Mr. Clark's vehicle went off the left hand shoulder of the roadway. Mr. Anderson's semi jack-knifed and flipped over onto its driver's side. Mr. Anderson's semi then skidded 109.4 feet coming to a final rest facing west blocking all of northbound I-65.

Mr. Clark was taken via EMS to TJ Samson Hospital and will be treated and released. Mr. Clark was cited to court for Reckless Driving, DUI 2nd due to injuries. Willie Anderson Jr was not injured in this collision. Intoxicants played a factor in this collision.
