News Release

Injury Crash on I-65 in Barren County

Date of News Release: 02/18/2007

(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - Fred C. Fluker was traveling northbound on Interstate 65 when he observed traffic ahead of him abruptly stopping. Traffic had stopped due to another injury accident that had occurred near the 49 mm. Fred C. Fluker attempted to stop, but lost control of his vehicle due to the snow and ice covered road surface. Fred C. Fluker fishtailed and entered a side skid before colliding with the rear trailer of Cary Gene Thayan. Cary Gene Thayan was stopped in the roadway at the time of the collision. The front passenger of Unit # 1 (Angel Fluker) was trapped inside of the vehicle and extracted with the "Jaws of Life." Fluker was transported to T.J. Samson Hospital and then later flown by Stat Flight to the University of Louisville Hospital. Fluker suffered multiple leg fractures and a broken hip.
