January 2007 Activity Report

Date of News Release: 02/01/2007

(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - (BOWLING GREEN, KY) - The Post Commander, Captain Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police Post 3, is reporting the following activity for the month of January 2007.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 2,808 citations of which 867 were for speeding, 240 citations for no seatbelts, and 9 for no child restraint. Thirty-nine people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 656 courtesy notices investigated 80 accidents, of which 3 were fatalities, and assisted 238 motorists, while inspecting 2,452 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,256 complaints, and opened 80criminal cases, and made 546 criminal arrests.

Troopers also worked 849 special details and programs for January.
