Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 3rd Degree Charges in Benton, KY

Date of News Release: 12/18/2007

(Benton, KY) - On 12-18-2007 Detective Dean Patterson presented the case involving Michael F. Colvett, 37 of Benton, to a Marshall County Grand Jury. Colvett was charged with Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 3rd Degree on 10-12-2007 for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student at Marshall County High School.

The Marshall County Grand Jury returned indictments for Rape 3rd Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree-2 counts and Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 3rd Degree. Detective Patterson arrested Colvett at 3:40 PM and lodged him in the Marshall County Detention Center. He is being held on $25,000 cash bond. The investigation is continuing by Detective Patterson.
