Drug Round Up in the Post 1 Area

(MURRAY, KY.) On 11-15-07 Kentucky State Police Troopers, with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies conducted a drug round-up, arresting thirteen (13) individuals from four (4) Kentucky Counties and two (2) other states.
Trooper Donald Bowman and Trooper Jay Thomas conducted the two-month investigation by going to various pharmacies in the post one area and inspecting pseudoephedrine purchase logs and other related records. The following subjects were arrested and charged for purchasing more than 9-grams of drug products commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine:
Other arrests are pending for six (6) individuals not located during the round up. The investigation revealed these individuals purchased 401.68 grams or 3321 pills during the month. Pseudoephedrine is a main ingredient in clandestine manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Kentucky Division of Probation/Parole, Calloway County Sheriff's Department, Murray Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff's Department, Henry County (TN) Sheriff's Department, Johnson County (IL) Sheriff's Department and the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force assisted Kentucky State Police with the round-up. The investigation is continuing by Troopers Bowman and Thomas.
