Injury Collision Involving School Bus in Graves County
Date of News Release: 10/01/2007
(Mayfield, KY) - Joe L. Hargrove and Pamela J. Burgin were traveling North on the KY. 121 Bypass near Mayfield. Mr. Hargrove was operating a Graves County School bus loaded with 12 students from the high school. As Mr. Hargrove approached a railroad crossing,he activated his red flashing lights and stopped. Ms. Burgin failed to see the bus stopped and ran in to the rear of it. One student, Steven Riley 18, was complaining of a neck injury and was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment. The Mayfield/Graves County EMS and Trooper Jay Thomas assisted state police at the scene. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Thomas Clifton.
