Criminal Arrest in Graves County

Date of News Release: 10/01/2007

(Mayfield, KY) - Kentucky State Police received report of a domestic where Ronald F. Girard was out of control and had assaulted a family member. Sgt Steger arrived on the scene and immediately became in foot pursuit of Mr. Girard. Mr. Girard ran to the rear of the residence where he unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry and was stopped by Sgt Steger, Tpr Green and Tpr Nall. Mr. Girard refused verbal commands and physically resisted efforts to be handcuffed. After a brief struggle with units, Mr. Girard was arrested.

Mr. Girard and three Kentucky State Police troopers were treated and released from Jackson Purchase Medical Center, only minor injuries were sustained in the struggle. Mr. Girard was lodged in the Graves county jail and is being charged with DUI 1st, Resisting Arrest, Assault 4th Domestic Violence, Menacing, Attempted Burglary 2nd, Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle, Driving Dui Suspended 1st, Assault 3rd, and three counts of Criminal Mischief 3rd.
