Theft of Identity Investigation and Arrest

Date of News Release: 09/07/2007

(Mayfield, KY) - On August 23, 2007, Trooper Dean Patterson received a complaint from a Graves County resident reporting her and her son's identity had been stolen. The investigation by Trooper Patterson led him to Casey Erwin, 24 of Mayfield. Erwin used the identities to open and pay for a cellular phone account. On September 6, 2007 Erwin was arrested and charged with four counts of Theft of Identity without Consent, a Class D Felony. She was lodged in the Graves County Detention Center. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Patterson.
