DUI Injury Crash on I-24 in Lyon County

Date of News Release: 09/02/2007

(Mayfield, KY) - William T Faith was traveling eastbound on Interstate 24 when he ran off the emergency shoulder almost striking the guardrail. Mr. Faith overcorrected, crossed both eastbound lanes, traveled through the median, and struck Oluwaseun Awoniyi's vehicle in the westbound lanes.

Mr. Faith was taken to Western Baptist Hospital and admitted for possible neck injury and possible broken ankle. Ms. Awoniyi was taken to Lourdes and suffered only minor injuries.

Mr. Faith is being charged with DUI 1st and was cited to court due to his injuries.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 24 were shut down for approximately 30 minutes. Investigation continues by Tpr Donald Crawford.
