Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine Precursor Arrest

(Mayfield, KY) - A two week investigation by Trooper Jay Thomas has led to the arrest of 3 individuals for buying more than nine grams of drug products that are commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine.
Trooper Thomas went to various pharmacies in the Murray area and inspected their pseudoephedrine logs for the past three months. The inspection of the logs revealed Dustin Larue, Melanie Albright and Michael Beane purchased more than nine grams in a one month period.
On 07-02-07, Mr. Larue was charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine Precursor. He remains in the Marshall County Detention Center. On 07-03-07 at 6:55AM, Ms. Albright was arrested at her residence and charged with 3 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine Precursor and at 8:45am; Mr. Beane was located and arrested at his residence. He was charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine Precursor. Ms. Albright and Mr. Beane were lodged in the Calloway County Detention Center.
Trooper Thomas' investigation reveals these individual along with two others that have not been located and charged, purchased 1,112 pills or 129.2 grams over the past three months. Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine Precursor is a Class-D Felony. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Jay Thomas.
