Injury Crash on KY 97 in Graves County

Date of News Release: 06/07/2007

(Mayfield, KY) - Donald Crews was traveling northbound on KY. 97 when he apparently fell asleep and traveled into the southbound lane. Mr. Crew's vehicle struck a southbound vehicle driven by Daryl Neal head-on. Mr. Crews and a passenger in his vehicle, Amanda Hayden was transported to the Murray Calloway County Hospital and treated for multiple injuries. Amanda Hayden was later flown by PHI Air Ambulance to Vanderbilt Hospital. Neither Crews nor Hayden were wearing a seatbelt. Daryl Neal was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries and released. Mr. Neal was cited in to court for DUI 1st. The Graves County Sheriff's Department, Sedalia Fire Department and Mayfield/Graves County EMS assisted state police at the scene. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Jay Thomas.
