Fatal Crash on US 70 in Livingston County

Date of News Release: 05/20/2007

(Mayfield, KY) - Loye R. Doom of Smithland was traveling east on US 70 when his vehicle left the roadway and overcorrected. Mr. Doom's vehicle traveled several feet in the ditch with half of his vehicle on the roadway and half in the ditch. The vehicle then struck a culvert and became airborne. The vehicle came to final rest in the ditch and landed on it's top.

Phi Air Medical transported Mr. Doom to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana where he succumbed to his injuries.

Post 1 was assisted by Livingston EMS, Livingston Rescue, Livingston County Sheriffs Office, KSP Post 16, and the Vanderburgh County (IN) Coroner's Office. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Daniel Jones u/583.
